January | Styling The Classic With Laura Higham
The new year is the time for fresh starts and new beginnings, so we kick off 2019 with the help of three wonderful collaborators: style blogger, Lauren Crowe; interior stylist, Laura Higham and photographer Minky Luard.
This month’s Classic Selection has been styled by interiors blogger and stylist, Laura Higham of The Indigo House. Continue reading to find out more about Laura and how she styled the Classic Selection.
Q: Tell us a bit more about yourself and how you got started in interiors?
A: “I live in East Sussex with my husband and 2 children. We moved into our current home a couple of years ago and having been passionate about interiors for as long as I can remember, I then decided to start sharing some of my interior shots on Instagram. Since then, i've grown my following and started my own blog! I’ve also had the pleasure of working with some fantastic brands and businesses.”
Q: How do you express yourself throughout your home?
A: “My home is how I express myself and my creativity. I love styling and can quite happily spend hours re-inventing spaces. I don't tend to label my style, as I think a home should be a collection of things you love and should grow with you over time. Interior trends chop and change all the time but I think your home should be a reflection of you, your family and how you all live within that space.”
Q: How did you style this month’s Classic Selection?
A: “I've always loved having fresh flowers within my home! I love how they can change and lift a space, they can soften a room or add something quite dramatic. January’s flowers are beautiful, their gentle tones are calming which is perfect for the post Christmas chaos! I've styled them in our newly decorated bedroom, it's a calm and quiet retreat, which the flowers represent perfectly. I will always try to have fresh flowers in my home, It's one of my little treats!”
Q: What are your goals for 2019?
A: “2019 involves lots more interior projects within our home, we've done a lot within the last couple of years but theres still lots to do. Hopefully it will also see my interiors business grow even more. I have lots of ideas I'd like to pursue and hopefully some exciting projects on the horizon, so watch this space!”
We’d like to say a huge thank-you to Laura for collaborating with us this month! Don’t forget to check her out and keep up-to-date with her via Instagram and www.theindigohouse.net
